Architecture Past, Present and Future

Many times we hear that we should forget our past and look to the future.

But myself like many other people share a fascination for old places, historical buildings… Why?

Castles, Houses, Churches, Markets they are built with one common principle: Protection…

All the activities we do in those buildings were once done outside, so their existence is not crucial. We try to make them as beautiful and comfortable as we can, but the underlying reason for their existence is yet the protection they give us…

Does that mean that all our buildings and architecture is result of our fear and need for protection? All the walls, doors and windows?

What is that we need so much protection from? Is it a need to keep and fear of being free?

But when we are in those places we feel connected to the knowledge, life, and culture of our antecessors…

It’s a bridge in a way…

Is it maybe their way to make us know? Is it our past generations way to be present?

So History is Present and the Present will be Future…
